Lavender essential oil is also wonderful for headaches. I used to have to take the extra-strength Excedrin for my headaches. When I got pregnant I couldn't take it anymore so I started using lavender essential oil instead. You can mix it with a carrier oil such as olive oil and massage it into your temples, or just do what I do and deeply breathe it in for a few minutes. It actually works better than any conventional medication, and faster too. Excedrin takes almost an hour (for me) to kick in, with lavender my headache is always gone in under 5 minutes. And...no side effects!
