Cosleeping and Infant Safety–A Good Old Essay Collection from Dr. James McKenna
I found this collection of essays while I was shuffling through some papers on my hard drive. Sleeping separately from one’s baby increases risk. Cosleeping usually involves bedsharing but for some it is close roomsharing. Both these are much safer than separate rooms.
Every single year, a small group of scientists studies cosleeping with a predetermined conclusion and then bend the facts to suit the conclusion that babies should sleep alone.
They are wrong every single time.
“Telling a mother that she can’t rest when and where her baby sleeps makes mothering just unpardonable harder.”
