What Anesthetic is Best for Circumcision?

Q. I am pregnant and am researching the issue of circumcision. I have a link regarding not using EMLA anesthetic for a circumcision. Can you tell me what can be used if we opt to have it done?

A. A dorsal penile nerve block (a small injection of lidocaine at the base of the penis)
