As I am a stay at home mum I have had the time to put in more than 6 months worth of research into vaccines, and my research does not stop as I find this to be a very important issue for my child.

As a result of that research, I question greatly the effectiveness as well as the possiblility of short term negative effects and long term effects of vaccines that may not be as obvious – such as damage to the immune system.

When I first approached my Dr with my 3 month old baby I had not begun my research and was actually about to get his shots, but I hestitated expressing to my Dr my concerns about the amount of shots given at one time and looking at my precious little boy it just didn't seem to make any sense that we would load his system up with a whole lot of antigens and toxins.

Upon hearing my hesitation my Dr gave me a book to read titled "Vaccines Your Informed Choice" and I am grateful that she did as it led me to discover what I have come to realise, that vaccines are not safe for small babies.

There has never been a study by anyone to test for their safety, we merely hear superficial statements such as 'vaccines are safe' and are shown statistics that state that all of the diseases that they supposeldly protect us from have been mostly eradicated – thanks to vaccines of course.

There is never any mention that the reason for the decline of many of those illnesses is attributed to better living standards in the western world, cleaner water, sanitation and better access to medical aid.

There is also undeniable anecdotal evidence by many mothers that know their babies better than anyone could, with compelling and very tragic accounts of a perfectly healthy baby suddenly becoming very ill after a series of shots. It seems that many of these mother's are not being heard above the propoganda that evidently permeates the atmosphere.

In short I am grateful to read that there are doctors out there that are not just giving the mantra that vaccines are safe and actually looking a bit more in depth at the situation as a whole.

It is a difficult and hugely important task to educate yourself on vaccinations. I commend you for wanting to make an informed decision! If your doctor does not respect your right to make educated decisions regarding your child I would strongly suggest searching for a new Pediatrician or Family Doctor.
