Watching the Frontline show it was made clear to me that the show was not about doctor vs. doctor or fact vs. fact. It was about the disconnect between public health officials and doctors in favor of vaccines against a new generation of parents. It did seem like at the end that the medical people had more summing up points which might skew the message of the show. Sure they may have started out researching and asking doctors from both sides, but I feel they saw the story they wanted to tell was not about doctors disagreeing, but doctors and parents at a disconnect. It is their show and their story, yes you don't have to agree. It might not show the story you want shown, but at least criticize it based on what it does show and not what you wanted it to show. I'd take the advice of Barbara Loe Fisher and use the internet, make your own show on youtube and present a balanced story showing the talking points you want. You are a breath of fresh air! I made the decision to stop vaccinating a few years ago and have gotten so much criticism for it. It's nice to have an opinion like yours because I feel the same way. I'm a birth doula and this topic comes up a lot with my clients at our prenatal meetings. I like to give both sides to the story and encourage them that the right decision is an informed decision. I have. I have also chosen not to vaccinate my children because of it. Am I irresponsible? No. Both my children have been breastfed for at least 2 years. What does that have to do with it - you say? Breastfeeding a child for 2 years provides them more immunities than they can get from any amount of vaccines. What did they study in the 50s to develop the polio vaccine? They studied the natural immunity properties to polio found in breastmilk. So when my parents are concerned about my kids not being vaccinated against polio - I get to happily reassure them that they do have the 'immunity from polio'. Its the natural one - not artificial. Recent studies have shown giving Tylenol to reduce fever after vaccines decreases their effectiveness. Hello? Big surprise! Fever is a body's reaction to infection. The body is trying to fight the infection/vaccine. Giving Tylenol reduces the body's ability to fight it off naturally. Did we really need a study for that? Isn't that common sense? Wake up people! Drug companies can find wonderful medicines to 'cure' diseases, surpress them and try to prevent them. Why aren't they smart enough to figure out what CAUSES them? 2 reasons - they wouldn't make the billions off the sales of the 'cures' and the finger would be pointed back to them. Educate yourself and determine what is best for your children. I decided 1/125 wasn't something I wanted to risk. My childrens' lives are not going to be subjected to a game of Russian roulette. So when my parents are concerned about my kids not being vaccinated against polio – I get to happily reassure them that they do have the 'immunity from polio'. Its the natural one – not artificial.

Recent studies have shown giving Tylenol to reduce fever after vaccines decreases their effectiveness. Hello? Big surprise! Fever is a body's reaction to infection. The body is trying to fight the infection/vaccine. Giving Tylenol reduces the body's ability to fight it off naturally. Did we really need a study for that? Isn't that common sense?

Wake up people! Drug companies can find wonderful medicines to 'cure' diseases, surpress them and try to prevent them. Why aren't they smart enough to figure out what CAUSES them? 2 reasons – they wouldn't make the billions off the sales of the 'cures' and the finger would be pointed back to them.

Educate yourself and determine what is best for your children. I decided 1/125 wasn't something I wanted to risk. My childrens' lives are not going to be subjected to a game of Russian roulette.

He is 6 years old and has extremely limited verbal skills, eats about a dozen foods, the list of problems goes on and on. He has had extensive therapy from our local autism center, PT, OT, speech therapy, on a casein free, gluten free diet with no artificial flavorings or colorings, has had the gut flora, the list goes on and on. I am haunted by the fact that I made sure his mother got my flu shot when she was 7 months pregnant, they were so scarce the winter of 2003-2004. We all found out the hard way there are risks associated with vaccinations. Neither side of our family has had autism until now...I will never have peace of mind until we know for sure. We ask questions and read all we can and this is good. There are no bad questions, if it was your child or grandchild you would have the same quest for answers. I am not agreeing that we should not vaccinate our children, I just believe that we should cut back on the number of shots and spread them out. I have an 8 year old son that was completely normal until he was given 5 shots at one time. Until you have had a child with autism, you really cannot make a judgement on what causes it or doesn't.
